Experiments on the development of measuring tools and automation for pipe irrigation systems in tertiary networks will result in a pipe irrigation design at the tertiary level that is suitable for precision farming needs. One of the important stages in the development of measuring instruments and automation is the design of irrigation outlet pipe plots of rice fields. This study discusses the design and theoretical approach of an effective pipe irrigation outlet so that it can be adopted at the farmer level quickly and easily. The design was developed from a floating type faucet on the market which is assembled on a rice field pipe irrigation outlet system. The volume of irrigation water is tested by calculating the volume of the outlet basin. The upper limit of the pond level controlled by a float is designed according to the upper limit of inundation in the paddy fields, while the lower limit of the float is designed according to the soil moisture limit of the paddy fields. The amount of this volume is calculated by the amount of evaporation on the plants in the paddy fields. The design results are in the form of plot dimensions and design parameters consisting of the maximum height of the inundation which is the upper limit of the float and the limit of the minimum water depth in the pond which is the lower limit of the float.
